Supers Edge Bison
Posted June 19, 2013
On Monday June 17, the Melville Bison made a visit to Al Sapieha Field. Both teams starting pitchers would pitch complete games and pitch effectively, but a couple of errors was the Bison downfall in a 3-1 Supers victory.
Runs were hard to come by in this game as Supers starting pitcher Logan Parachoniak had his best outing of the season in allowing just one earned run with nine strikeouts. He scattered six hits over seven innings to pick up his second win of the season. Parachoniak got into a bases loaded with no outs jam in the top of the third, but would get out of it allowing just one run to keep the Supers in the game. Bison pitcher Jarrett Waldbauer allowed only three runs, one of which was earned as errors in the bottom of the second and fourth innings led to two runs.
Zach Rakochy had three hits and a stolen base to lead the offence. Evan Rostotski and Colby Parachoniak each had a single and a run scored, while Greg Andreychuk had a single, an rbi, a stolen base and a run scored. Derek Palagian also picked up a single.
With the win, the Supers record now sits at nine wins and one loss. Their next game will be Thursday June 20 in Langenburg at 6:15 PM.
