ST. LOUIS SURGE ANNOUNCES PUBLIC SERVICE DAY – HOME GAME FOUR
St. Louis, MO – June 24, 2013 – The St. Louis Surge Women’s Semi-Professional Basketball Team will take on the Kansas City Nuggets in their fourth home game of the 2013 season, which is themed Public Service Day, on Saturday, June 29, 2013, at 7:05 p.m. at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) Mark Twain Center located at One University Boulevard, St. Louis, MO 63121. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Public Service Day will celebrate the value and virtue of service to the community and will recognize those who currently serve our community such as fire fighters, police officers, educators, government officials and nonprofit organizations. Also, fans will have the opportunity to tour ambulances, fire trucks and police cars.
“Public service day is a great way for the Surge to say thank you and celebrate individuals who serve our community every day,” said Khalia Collier, Owner and General Manager of the St. Louis Surge.

to Public Service Day can be purchased at the door: adults $8, students
(with current high school student I.D.) $5, free for children five and
under, and free for those in team uniforms. Discounted tickets to all

The St. Louis Surge is currently undefeated with a season record high of 5-0. The St. Louis Surge broke the Women’s Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL) scoring record of 100 against the Louisville Fillies on Saturday, June 15, during home game three with a final score of 133 to 38.
The St. Louis Surge 2013 roster includes the following players: Jasmine Bailey (University of Illinois - Chicago), Bianca Beck (Southeast Missouri University), Jaleesa Butler (Georgetown University), Shanika Butler (University of Arkansas Little Rock), Tanysha Scott (Minnesota University), Ashley Ellis Milan (Minnesota University), Breanna Salley (Minnesota University, Gabriella Green (Lindenwood University), Jenna Higgins (Northern State University), Gillian Letsche (Iowa State University), Kassidy Shuman (Quincy University), Ali Schwagmeyer (Quincy University) and Aneshia Starks (Culver Stockton College).
The team is led by head coach Melissa Young and assistant coaches Petra Jackson and Tony Condra.
