Mounties Develop but Rumours Persist HOW BIZARRE!

Posted June 22, 2013

It was a day of great joy as the Vancouver Mounties played 21 innings developing all their players for a total of 11 hours at the ball park.  Thanks to the Okanagan Athletics (AKA Kelowna?) and the Cloverdale Spurs for making the development day possible.  The umpire crew also stuck around all day so many thanks to them.  The scores of the games don't really matter as with 21 innings of baseball the Mounties surely out developed everybody on the day.

It was hard for the Mounties coaches and players to continue to focus on the development of their players with all the rumours that were flying around the park.  Rumours that Kamloops used a cork bat against the Spurs earlier in the day? The Mounties say who cares if those rumours are true as it may help the Mounties outfielders develop a bit bettor tomorrow with all the fly balls that may occur.  Of course these are just rumours and hearsay that were going around our park today.

Rumours about the new Provincial schedule format that one coach says were conveyed to him by the Bantam AAA Coordinator?  Rumours that the top 5 teams will be placed in one pool and the bottom 5 teams will be in another pool with 3 teams coming out of the top pool and 1 team coming out of the bottom pool?  Rumours only of course as the Mounties coaches have not been officially notified of what format will be used. But at least the Mounties (AKA Vancouver Minor Bantam AAA) were notified that the format will be changing unlike the poor Tri City coaching staff who were not even notified that there will be a change from the format that was laid out at the Pre Season Coaches meeting.

Rumours that the double knockout Wildcard between the last 6 teams could be divided in to two separate tournaments with 3 teams from the island and 2 from the mainland and one from the Okanagan?  Rumours that all the Island teams have applied to host the Wild Card Tournament?  The Wildcard was a hot topic on the day as everyone was talking about the great chance the Wildcard teams would have, only having to beat out the 6 or 7 seed to get into the cross over game?  It was tough but credit the Mounties coaches for making sure the boys continued to develop throughout all the rumours that were floating around.

This website usually tries to report facts only, but with so many little bits of information being leaked and no official clarification we are unable to substantiate any of these rumours.  However we would like to report that although all these rumours have been spread by reputable people we wanted to make sure that everyone puts these reports in the proper context, that they are just rumours until official notice is sent out.
