Five Richmond Chuckers players and one coach have received and accepted invitations to the Baseball BC High Performance Prospects Camp, July 9-11 at Whalley Stadium.
Noah Or, James Hardy, Logan Newman, Spencer Rankin and Marc Ashford will be attending the camp, which is used to identify and evaluate candidates for Team BC squads that participate in showcase events later in the year. Players from the camp will be chosen to represent BC at the Pacific Northwest Championships and the Northwest Futures Tournament.
Long time Richmond Bantam AAA coach Ryan Klenman has also been named as one of the instructors at the camp as well. He joins an impressive list of PBL and college coaches who will run the three-day event. Ryan has been coaching with the Baseball BC High Performance Program for several years. In addition to his regular work with the Arizona Diamondbacks scout teams at the Arizona Fall Classic in October, he will be handling coaching duties this fall for Team BC at both the PNC and Futures tournaments.
Additional congratulations go out to former Chuckers and current PBL players Ryo Takenaka (2010-11) and Clint Taylor (2010) of the North Delta Blue Jays, and Cooper Misic (2011) of the Langley Blaze, who received invitations to the 2013 B.C. Selects Camp. This high performance event is used in the Team BC selection process for the prestigious Canada Cup 17U National Championship.
