The seventh annual River Valley League – Dakota Rice Scott League All Star Game was played at Veseli on July 12 and the RVL won by a convincing score of 19-4, out-hitting its neighbor league rival 26-9. A big part of the RVL offense was St. Peter shortstop Jesse Munsterman, who went 3-for-5 with four runs a walk and a stolen base. For his excellent performance at his first All Star game in his third year with the Saints, Munsterman was named the All Star Game Most Valuable Player.
Munsterman started at shortstop and batted in the two-spot. In the first, he singled and scored as the RVL belted out eight hits in the opening frame. In the fourth, Munsterman singled, stole second and later scored. He came to the plate later in the inning and singled and scored once again. His last at-bat came in the seventh where he walked and scored. On defense, Munsterman had two putouts.
The winning pitcher was Dillon Lee of Jordan and the losing pitcher was Bill Dunker of St. Patrick.
