Supers Crushed by Langenburg
Posted July 22, 2013
Game 1 of the SESBL semi final between the Supers and the Langenburg Indians was a game the Supers would like to forget as the Indians pounded out 14 hits in a 12-1 victory.
Derek Palagian started on the mound for the Supers, going five innings, giving up eight hits, six runs, five walks, and four strikeouts. Although he did not have his best stuff on the night, he pitched better than his final pitching line indicated. Travis Fogg came in relief in the sixth inning, and had a tough outing giving up six runs. Scott Sharp pitched a scoreless seventh in mop up duty.
With the bats, the Supers managed seven hits, but stranded eight runners in scoring position. Palagian had three singles and a run scored to lead the way. Also recording hits was Evan Rostotski with a double, Jason Blommaert with an rbi double, Colby Parachoniak and Logan Parachoniak with a single each.
Langenburg leads the best of three series 1-0, putting the Supers behind the 8-ball. Game two will be Wednesday, July 24 at 6:15 in Langenburg. It is do or die for the Supers as their season is on the line.
