Chuckers Take Pennant

Richmond registers 8-0 shutout in last game of season to win the Bantam AAA regular season league title.
The Chuckers, behind the shutout pitching of Tyler Hoefer, posted an 8-0 win on Wednesday evening to claim the BC Minor 15U Bantam AAA pennant. The team finished 32-7 in league play, to finish a game a head of the Cloverdale Spurs and Vancouver Mounties, who both finished with 31-8 records. It was a very tight race all the way as the top five teams all jockeyed for the top spot since the season began in April.
It was the second league title for the Richmond squad, having last won the honors in 2008. A fine accomplishment for a hard working group of players, but the ultimate goal is still ahead, with the Provincial Championships beginning in one week's time.
