Besselmania!
Posted August 7, 2013
The Outlaws took on the Dodgers Thursday night in the late night game at Cairns. Parker Bessel got the call up and was handed the ball with the strict instructions "give us as much as you can kid". So.... Parker decided he would pitch us a complete game and get the well deserved 5 -2 victory.
The bats came on in the 6th and the boys put up a 3 spot.to give young Bessel the lead , and he proved that was all he needed and finished the game. Needless to say we know who is the Player of the game was.
The offense was good tonight, just stranded too many early but bounced back nice late. Unky Herp led the way with a couple solid hits, and pretty much the whole line up got on base and delivered when needed. The defense was solid making all the routine plays. Nice win heading into provincials.
On a sad note, we all know the community lost a good kid last Friday. Quinn came out for The Outlaws and pitched great for us 3 short weeks ago.We couldnt make the plays(this was the diggers 9 error game) for him but came and did one hell of a job for us. In knowing his family and what they have done for minor sports and community, this whole situation is hard to believe and is as tragic as it gets.
The Outlaws will be honoring Quinn by wearing stickers with his initials on their batting helmets this weekend.
Next action is Friday night at 6 at Leakos against Yorkton. Provincials!
