Austin Ell Signs With University of MaryBismarck, ND – University of Mary baseball coach Joel Barta announced that left-handed pitcher/first baseman Austin Ell of Ladner, British Columbia, Canada, has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his education at U-Mary and play baseball for the Marauders. Ell becomes Marauders baseball's second commitment during the early signing period.

"We look for Austin to fit into our system and he has a really good understanding of our pitching philosophy," said Barta. "He is a very projectable player that has a chance to be a dual player long-term.  A very important piece for us is that he has a strong desire to work hard on a daily basis. Austin has a very high ceiling."

A left-handed pitcher and first baseman for the North Delta Blue Jays in the British Columbia Premier Baseball League, Ell was named the most valuable player at the Best of the West Kamloops tournament.

A student at Delta Secondary School, Austin is the son of Collin and Darlene Ell and intends to pursue a degree in business at U-Mary.
