The Jays flew into town for a double dip yesterday and the Royals came out victorious in both games. The first game was an eventful one as the Royals jumped out to a 5-0 lead only to give up eight in the second. Things settled down after that as Paul Strueby threw a complete game and got the win 13-9. The Royals defense was once again shaky committing four errors. However, the bats were big once again as they pounded out thirteen hits lead by a Brent Puetz homerun.
The second game saw the Royals win 8-3 behind six strong innings by Eric Bollefer. Brent Puetz threw the seventh to close out the game. The boys had nine hits in this game as well lead by Rylan Korte who had three. The defense was better making only one error. The Royals record now stands at 7-0 which is good for first place. Next action for the Royals is next Sunday when the always tough, Saskatoon Stallions come out to Marysburg for a doubleheader with the first game beginning at 1pm.
