On Monday June 2nd, the Supers hosted the Melville Bison. After four innings, the Supers led 3-0 and the game was still up for grabs. However in the bottom of the fifth, the Supers erupted for eight runs, highlighted by a Travis Mentanko grand slam as they put it in cruise control for a 16-0 victory.
It was a full team effort, as the pitching, defence and hitting were all in fine form. Logan Parachoniak started on the mound, and went the distance with the shutout. He gave up just four hits with only two walks and an impressive nine strikeouts. He commanded the zone and all of his pitches were working the entire evening.
The offence had fifteen hits on the night led by Travis Mentanko with two home runs, a double and a single. He had five rbi's and scored three runs to fill the stats sheet. Logan Parachoniak continued his good hitting season as he had two hits including a home run in the bottom of the first to set the tone. He had three rbi and scored three runs. Also with multi-hit games was Derek Palagian with three singles, Travis Fogg with two, and Kory Achtymichuk with two.
The defence was in fine form as the Supers committed zero errors. With the win, the Supers improve to 6 wins and 1 loss on the season. The game scheduled for Wednesday, June 4th in Roblin was rained out. A makeup game will be announced soon
