THIRD RAINOUT OF THE YEAR FOR THE REBELS
Posted June 5, 2014
The Ryley Rebels were supposed to have a stretch of three home games to start off June and hopefully push their way back into contention for the PBL Pennant. Instead, Mother Nature decided to wash out back to back to back home games for the Rebels, with the most recent being tonight's second and final game between the Rebels and the Armena Royals in the 2014 regular season. Games versus the Leduc Milleteers and Beaumont Angels have also been washed out due to the wet weather and inability of the baseball field at Ryley Ballpark to drain.
The team will now sit through a bye on Tuesday June 10 and wait until next Thursday, June 12, to take on the Holden Blue Jays in Holden. Rebels fans will have to hope that two weeks without any baseball, as the team is not known for holding in season practices, will not dampen the chances of going on a run to challenge the Jays and Royals for top spot in the Powerline Baseball League this year. Fans can check the schedule as the team will be looking to have confirmed make up dates in the near future.
