Royals split a pair

Posted July 6, 2014

The Royals took on the Diggers on Wednesday night and dropped their first game of the year, 2-1.  Colin Bauml threw four innings and Dean Jaeb threw the last two.  The defence was strong behind the pitchers not making any errors.  The bats were the story of this game as the Royals only managed four hits.

The Royals then took on the Guns on Saturday evening in Saskatoon.  Behind a complete game four hitter from Eric Bollefer the Royals won by a score of 4-0.  The defense was again strong not making any errors.  The bats were pretty quiet once again with only five hits.  Brent Puetz lead the way with two including a clutch two out double that scored a pair in the seventh.  Next action for the Royals is on Wednesday when they take on the Blue Jays in Saskatoon at 6:30pm.
