Outlaws down Marysburg for 4th straight W
Posted July 18, 2014
The Outlaws showed up Thursday night for a double dip against Marysburg and the Jays. The clouds were dark and the lights were needed for the 6:30 start against the Royals.
Frenchee took the mound for the Outlaws and had a solid outing, allowing 2 runs on a few hits. The offense came out of the gates strong and put up 3 in the first, and added 4 more before the game was over.
Both teams played through some wet weather, and by the 5th the lightning that surrounded the diamond earlier starting getting closer, prompting the umpires to call a short delay. Not long after, due to the fact the lightning was still present and the rain not letting up, the game was called after 5 with The Outlaws winning 7 to 2.
During post game beverages the skies opened up and Cairns was hit with a lot of hard rain. Needless to say the 9 oclock game was cancelled and will be rescheduled sometime later on.
Next action for the Outlaws is 6:00 on Saturday against the Jays. Then Monday at 6:30 and Tuesday at 9. After that the boys will be off to Kindersley on the 25th in hopes of a provincial title.
