DBacks down DustDevils again 23-9

Posted July 31, 2014

You might say this is the prototypical FMBA game, as two veteran knuckleballers squared off in a battle of wrench-throwing.

Veteran Tony Wyllie was on the bump for the DBacks. He was throwing so well that DBacks management elected to "quit while ahead" and put rookie pitcher Adam Bader in.

The stuff looked good for the rookie: decent fastball, good movement on the curveball, but unfortunately none of it was landing for strikes. The Dust Devils did what they do best - not hit the ball, but walk around for a 7 spot.

Matt "Lupus" Strukoff pitched two beauty innings in relief K'ing two unfortunate Dust Devils.

Moro and JB were both one hit away from the cycle (Triple for Dan, HR for JB). Both came up disappointingly short like insert Sutherland joke here.

Galen and Gayef's knees were super happy with the extra long game.

Trask's vagina was flaring up again. But it felt better and had greater flexibility than the day before. He is day-to-day.

Tyler Hayes' 1990 pinto broke down en route to the game. Cam Wych stepped up saying "Playing the Dust Devils is pretty darn close to slopitch, put me at short!" DBacks management did just that - he also went 3 for 5 with a trip and a dub.

Gayef is old and bitter.

MVP - Bader for strategically sniping the W from Tony up 6 - 0.
VAG - JB for missing the cycle with a ball off the bottom of the fence. Hit the gym.
