Junior Jays 2014 BJPBL Award Winners

The Junior Jays finished the 2014 spring
campaign as league leaders in several statistical categories. Overall the Jays
were the top hitting team leading the JPBL in batting average (.305), OPS (.788)
and Slugging percentage (.392). Zach Besler was the JPBL’s top hitter with a .430
batting average. On the pitching side Daniel Gosslein led the league in all the
major pitching categories. Daniel had the top ERA of 0.62 while striking out an
impressive 100 batters in just 79.2 innings pitched. His 12 -1 record was also
the top winning record among all pitchers this season. The Jays won 15 of the
16 games in which Daniel pitched. He also had a 2-1 record in three starts for
the Jays Senior team. Daniel was also selected as an alternate for Team BC
along with Tyler Hoefer from the Jays Senior team.
