Seven Lakes Girls Cross COuntry kicks off with Cy Fair XC Relay

The Spartan Girls Cross Country kicked off the 2014 season travelling to Spring Creek Park in Tomball to participate in the Cy Fair XC relay.  It was a very humid day, with great competition as the Spartans found themeslves running against the State ranked Woodlands Highlanders and their District Rivals the Katy Tigers. 

The girls ran hard and many questions were answered about where we are and where we need to go.  The Woodlands dominated the meet, placing 10 of their two man teams in the top twenty.  Seven Lakes finished in 2nd with 4 of our teams placed in the top twenty followed by Katy with 3.  Leading the way for the Spartans were Junior Captain Kacie Corbin (pictured) and Sophomore Julia Marotta who finished in 4th place.  Joining them in the top twenty were the teams of Sophomores Laura Broman and Camilla Broman (14th), Senior Captain Caitlin Causey and Sophomore Julia Marotta (18th) and Junior Taylor Brenkus and Sophomore Fara Omilabu (20th)    

The Lady Spartans will take a one week break from meets before running at the Seven Lakes Showcase on August 30th.
