Royals Go 1-2 at Provincials
Posted August 5, 2014
Tuesday, August 5th- This past weekend the Ridge Meadows Royals traveled to Victoria to take part in the 2014 Provincial Championships. The tournament got off to a rough start on Thursday as the club opened up with a 10-0 loss to the number one seeded Chilliwack Cougars. On Friday, in a game that was basically a must-win for the team, the Royals made several errors and were shut down offensively for a second straight day en route to a 5-0 loss. With the other results of the day, the Royals were eliminated from a chance at the semi-final. Despite having nothing to play for but pride, the Royals came out on Saturday in their last game of the season and defeated the host team Victoria by a score of 2-1 behind a strong pitching performance by Chris Bailey. All in all, it was a very successful season for the Royals. With only one graduating player, the team looks to be in strong position to contend in 2015.
