Lennox JV falls to Beresford on Game Winning Hit
In sports there is nothing better than a game winning shot or hit. Weather it is a shot on the goal to win in soccer and hockey, a three pointer at the buzzer or a base hit to knock in the game winning run, it is very fun to watch a game winning effort. This past Wednesday, the Lennox JV team played Beresford to start off the season for Lennox. 8th Grader Brock Anderson was given the starting pitcher role for the first three innings.
Anderson gave up 0 hits and 0 walks in 2.66 innings of work. Levi Buckneberg came in and worked well and gave up 0 runs in 1.33 innings of pitching. In the third, Jacob Ziegler worked a walk and then JD Kirchner bunted him over to third. Ray Williams would get on by a walk and then steal second to put runners on second and third with 2 outs. 8th grader Quincy Ihnnen came up and hit a 2 run double to right center to make it 2 to 0 Lennox. In the bottom of the 5th, Tyler Johnson came in for the save. After two strikeouts, the Orioles were one out away from a win. After 2 walks and a single it was 2 to 2. With runners on the corners the Beresford team sent up their number 7 hitter who would hit a blooping single over the first baseman’s head to have a walk off single. The final score was 3 to 2 Beresford.
Lennox could thank Brock Anderson, Tyler Johnson and Levi Buckneberg for great pitching performances. Quincy Ihnnen and Levi Buckneberg both had singles in the game and proved that they had an impact offensively on this game.
