Northeast-10 Announces Jordan Catalano landed on the second team and Krista King rounded out the awards on the All-Rookie team

MANSFIELD, Mass. - Adelphi's Brenna Martini was awarded Rookie of the Year laurels, while teammates Lindsay Mapes and Nicole Camera earned first-team honors, Jordan Catalano landed on the second team and Krista King rounded out the awards on the All-Rookie team as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning.

Southern New Hampshire led all schools with seven all conference selections, including three first teamers. Adelphi and Pace both had three first team selections, and the Panthers had the largest representation on the All-Rookie team. 

 

Adelphi's Martini put together an impressive first year campaign helping lead the Panthers to the Southwest Division title. The power-hitting third basemen has appeared in 42 games so far this season, and has posted a .380 batting average. She's currently leading the league with 15 doubles and 83 total bases. Martini's slugging percentage of .686 is currently third-best in the league. Martini was also named a First Team All-Conference selection and to the All-Rookie squad.

King and Camera post the second and third highest averages on the team at .369 and .337, respectively. In 149 at-bats King has accumulated 55 hits and stolen 12 bases, while driving in 12 runs. Camera has 30 hits, which includes three doubles, four triples and three homeruns for 13 RBIs. 

Catalano has started all 42 games at first base for Adelphi and posts a .315 average with 45 hits, which includes six doubles and two home runs. She has a team-high 258 putouts and has brought in 18 runs.

In the circle for the Panthers, a first-team selection, Mapes is 14-7 this season with a team-low 2.52 ERA. in 139.1 innings pitched, she has given up 39 earned runs, only walked 18 and struck out 105, holding opponents to a .213 average.

The 2015 Northeast-10 Softball Championship gets underway on Tuesday afternoon with first-round action as Southern Connecticut hosts Le Moyne in one game, while Assumption welcomes Saint Anselm in the other game. The Brown and Gold earned a double bye and will travel to Southern New Hampshire to compete on Friday, May 1.
