Expos Sweep Dbacks

REGINA, SK: Although the weather was better, the results for the Saskatoon Diamondbacks were worse as they dropped two one run decisions to the Regina Expos. Owen Lindberg started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 6 hits, 7 run with 4 BB’s and 3 K’s.  Matt Scott finished things off going 2 innings allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and 1 BB.  Offensively, the DBacks were led by Garrett Krawchuk who was 3 for 4 and Eric Clauson and Nolan Machibroda who were 3 for 5.  Adam Sembalarus was 2 for 3 while Cody Murfitt’ Shane Soderberg, Tyler Schlichemeyer, Alex Grenier, Jared Thompson and Connor Ingram each had singles.

Game 2 saw the Dbacks surrender a 7-2 lead after 5 innings losing 8-7. Nolan Machibroda started going 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 5 BB and 5 K’s.  Tyler Schlichemeyer and Eric Clauson tried to hold the lead, but gave up 6 runs on two hits.  Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Garrett Krawchuk, Shane Soderberg and Connor Ingram who each had two hits.  

Next action is Wednesday night when the Dbacks host Muenster.
