Two Trappers Named All-League
Posted May 16, 2015
Two Trappers, senior Jacob Brugman and junior Oscar Rodriguez were both named to the 3A GSHL all-league team as announced by the league's coaches this week. Brugman, a pitcher, was named to the first team. Rodriguez, a catcher, was named to the second team. The two selections to the all-league team was the most for the Trappers in five years, and Brugman was the first Trapper to be selected to the first team since Max Beatty in 2010.
Brugman was a part of a great class of pitchers in the Greater Saint Helens League this season that included three seniors who have already signed to colleges and one junior who has already verbaled to Washington State University for 2016. In his 2015 season Brugman shined as he led the Trapper pitching staff in wins, innings pitched, strikeouts and earned run average.
Rodriguez earned his first ever all league award after playing fantastic defense behind the plate in his junior season. A three year starter at catcher, Rodriguez had his best offensive season in 2015 as he led the team in on-base-percentage at over .500 and hit .270 in league play.
