The force is strong against the Bandits

5/30/15: The Flagler Bandits were in Umatilla for the Nations of Orlando tournament "The Empire Strikes Back". Keeping with the Star Wars theme, the Bandits were unable to use the Force in dropping both games on Saturday.
Game one found them playing the O'City Orioles. Starter Lawrence Russo was not helped by the defense as the Bandits were quickly down 3-0 after the half inning and were never able to bounce back. Hits by: Sal Piazza, Cameron Quintana, Riley Clymer, Carson Coffey (2 RBI's), and Avery Throne (3B, 2 RBI's). Bandits lose 11-7.
Game two was no better as the Bandits faced Iceberg Baseball. After taking a 3-1 lead, the Iceberg team battled back to take a 6-3 lead after 3 1/2 innings. The Bandits showed some life taking a 7-6 lead on Charlie Alfano's go ahead RBI triple. But as the Bandits have gone all year, they gave the game back to Iceberg with walks and errors. Leading hitters were: Tim McCue (RBI), Lawrence Russo (RBI), Charlie Alfano (3B, RBI), Cameron Quintana (2-3, 2B), Avery Throne, and Nick Toolsie.
5/31/15: Day two of the "Empire Strikes Back" tournament had the Flagler Bandits in the silver bracket. The Bandits were victorious in game one vs. Florida Tsunami Baseball Academy 14-6. Carson Coffey picked up the win. Leading hitters were: Lawrence Russo, Charlie Alfano, Carson Coffey with 3 hits apeice.
The Bandits dropped game two to Team Avalanche 4-2. Starter Marc Maschio went the distance but a bit of wildness and an ill-timed error cost the Bandits the game. Five Bandits provided the five hits in the game.
Up next for the Bandits is the Nations of Orlando "Back to the Future" tournament. June 6/7.
