Post 8 Goes 1-1 on Saturday in Sioux Falls Tournament

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Pierre Post 8 Legion baseball downed the Saskatoon Diamondbacks 11-4 and where shutout 10-0 by Sioux Falls Post 15 West Saturday during the second day of the Milt Simmons tournament in Sioux Falls. In the opener against Saskatoon, Post 8 unleashed a 14 hit attack scoring 8 runs in the 5th inning to pull away. Justin Berheim pitched 6 innings allowing 4 runs on 10 and 2 strikeouts to get the win for Pierre. Bennett Eisenbeisz pitched a scoreless 7th inning. Landon Badger had 3 hits including a triple and Nate Zimmerman had a pair of hits and 3 RBI’s to lead Post 8. In the nightcap, Sioux Falls Post 15 West scored in every inning winning in 6 innings on the 10 run rule. Pierre had just 2 hits and committed 5 errors in the game. Joe King took the loss walking 9 and allowing 7 runs on 5 hits through 4 innings. Post 8 is 4-3 on the season as they play again in the tournament at 11 am this morning in a semi final single elimination format.
