Father's Day Tourney Recap

Posted June 22, 2015

The Royals travelled to Sasaktoon to take part in the Father's Day Tourney this past weekend.  The first game saw the Royals defeat the Ddogers by a score of 16-2.  Craig McWillie once again had a strong outing for the Royals on the mound. The story in this game was the Royals bats as they had 17 hits. The defense didn't make an error.

The second game saw the Royals come up against the Calgary White Sox.  The Royals won this game by a score of 10-0.  Colin Bauml pitched for the Royals and had the White Sox batters off balance all games.  Braden Bauml had three hits and four RBIs for the Royals to pace the offense.  Again the defense was solid not making any errors.

This advanced the Royals to the semi final against the Guns.  Dean Jaeb started on the mound for the Royals and threw five solid innings before giving way to Mathew Strueby who threw the last two.  The Royals lost by a score of 8-5.  The big story in this game was the Royals defense which did not help Dean one bit.  We made five errors leading to five unearned runs.  And every time we made an error the Guns made us pay.  The offense was good with Brent Puetz leading the way with three hits.

Next action for the Royals is tomorrow night at 6:30 against the Diggers.
