DBacks Rally Late to Beat Dukes 7-5

Austin got the start for the Dukes - his stuff was electric as always. Dukes 3rd basemen wasn't impressed and decided Austin needed more of a challenge - so he threw a couple of balls into the right field stands, in acts of defiance.

With zero pitching left from the weekend, the DBacks try the "Shotgun" approach with a Sudsy /  Trask combo on the bump.  DBacks management had high hopes with Sudsy on the bump and Tyler Hayes at SS that no more errors would occur. Unfortunately Sudsy harnessed his inner SS and threw a ball into CF on a combacker to the mound - scoring 2 and putting the DBacks down 5-2.

Immediately following the overthrow, Sudsy injured his ankle trying to clear a bat from home plate.  Fortunately, Trask came in and shut the door the rest of the way, tossing his signature puss-balls for 3 2/3 scoreless innings.

Like an asshole, Miles Hunter layed-out to stop a base-clearing single to the fence from Gayef in the 3rd.

With the DBacks in dire straights, hope was dim. Little be known, a night of magic was about to occur.

Top 7 down 5-2, the Dbacks knocked 5 consecutive hits to rally (3 singles, 2 doubles) and put up a 5 spot for the W  7 - 5.

MVP - Gayef (3 for 4 2 doubles + go ahead RBI)
VAG - Sudsy for rolling his ankle on a bat right before Kelowna.
