Outlaws fall to Guns..rebound against Diggers
Posted July 10, 2015
The boys took on the first place Guns on wednesday night at Cairns field . With many guys unable to make it she was a struggle to find 9 but we managed.
Lindy got the start and threw a 3 hit gem , taking a 2 to 1 lead into the bottom of 7 but the Guns showed why they are in first , battling back to tie the game and send it to extras. The Outlaws couldnt muster much all night in the way of offense, and the top of 8 was no different. The game went to the bottom of 8 where the Guns strung a couple hits together and completed the comeback for the 3-2 win. Hell of an effort by Lindy who went all 8 , and unfortunate the boys couldnt get him more support.
Thursday the boys were back at it to a sold out crowd at Cairns against the Diggers. Donkey got the start and pitched a strong 7 to lead the boys to a 4 to 3 win and get the much needed two points. The offense was led by Gimmer who went 4 for 4 with 2 singles, a double and a very timely home run in the top of 7 which turned out to be the difference. He was a triple away from the cycle , but the only way Gim is getting a triple is if an outfielder breaks his leg going for a ball, or if we play at a diamond with no fence. Great win for the Outlaws to keep us in the hunt.
Special thanks to Landon Zimmer and Jordan Sass for helping us out this week. We couldnt have done it without you guys.
Next action is a double dip in Marysburg on Sunday July 12, Start times are 1 and 3.
