Challengers sweep

The Eugene Challengers swept the Sandblasters Tuesday night at Swede Johnson Stadium in a non league doubleheader. In game one, Three Rivers lost 10-0 in a game shortened to 6 innings by the 10 run rule. The Sandblasters managed only 1 hit while committing 5 errors. Game two was more competitive as the Blasters lost 7-1, but had 7 hits and committed just 2 errors. Both Brad Snow and Zach Inskeep had 2 hits apiece. The Challengers had only 2 more hits but had 7 free passes with 4 walks and 3 hit batters compared to a single walk for the Sandblasters.
Three Rivers return to action on Saturday with a single game against the Stayton Canyon Crushers on Saturday at Regis HS, followed by a DH at home on Sunday. The winner of this series will win the final playoff spot for Zone 3.
