Sandblasters split final DH

On a day when the Sandblasters needed to both games of a DH with the Stayton Canyon Crushers to earn a playoff spot, they could only manage a split. Game one took 11 innings before Matt Engholm drove in Kyle Springer for a 3-2 victory. Engholm also was the winning pitcher as he pitched 4 innings of scoreless relief. Game two was also a 1 run game but this time the Sandblasters came up short, 4-3. Brad Snow pitched a complete game in the loss. Both Ricky Jones and Ken Thrall had 2 hits. Three Rivers ended their Zone 3 season with 4 wins and 11 loses. Stayton will move onto Super Regional play with a best of 3 series at the 2nd place Area 2 team next weekend.
