Year 97 is in the books! It was another great season!

The 2015 Royals season proved to be another successful one in the storied history of Marysburg Senior baseball. After a delayed start to the season, the Royals went 14-4 in league play and won the league pennant for the fifth consecutive year.  They battled hard in the playoffs but came up short in a semi final loss to the Outlaws.  Provincials saw us make it to the final before settling for second as the Regina Trappers beat us. The second place finish was good enough to get us to Westerns, where unfortunately we went 0-3. We did, however, have three tight games as we lost three heartbreaking one run games. We also entered three tournaments winning the Holdfast tourney, winning the B side in Kenosee, and losing the semi final to the Guns at the Father's Day Tourney. It was a fantastic season once again. The future looks bright for this team as they are already looking ahead to next year. A few thank yous that need to be handed out. First and foremost - thank you to all the wives and the girlfriends for putting up with us all summer. You truly do not realize how much we appreciate all of the support that you give us year after year. We could not do it without you. Thank you to Coach Timmer, Coach Johber and Coach Wayne - it's harder coaching than playing and you guys kept your cool all year long. Thank you to all of our fans for supporting us this year. We had very good crowds in Marysburg all year long and it was amazing to see how many people travelled to Moose Jaw for provincials.  We hope we provided you with some good entertainment. Thank you to everyone who supported us and who came to our annual baseball camp in May. It was once again a great success. Thank you to Strueby Plumbing and Heating, Graphic Ad, Jenkins Farms, Hal and Colleen Jenkins, Jet Electric and Gord the Barber for supporting us financially this year. Your help enabled us to reduce our costs at Westerns!  Thank you to all who helped in our concession in Marysburg this year. The concession is a major reason we get as many fans as we do with all of the great food that is served. I am not going to name them all in fear I might forget someone, but you all know who you are. Thank you to Gord Kiefer, Lee Connell, Bryan Politeski, Brian Jaeb, Joel Taphorn, Dallas Hucul, and Ron Bauml for umpiring this year. It is a thankless job that often goes overlooked and the games could not be played without you. Thank you to all the players for the time and commitment you gave. It sure is fun going to the park with such a good group of guys. Thank you to the midgets who literally enabled us to field a team for playoffs - Adam Gerwing, Thomas Lessmeister, Devin Hinz, Carter Frerichs, Brody Frerichs, Nick Anderson, and Logan Hofmann. Thank you to Al Anderson's for providing us with a great place to do our baseball business. And finally last but certainly not least, thank you to Wayne and Noreen Strueby for everything that you do. This team would not be in existence without these two people. They do ALL of the behind the scenes work that no one notices and is overlooked. We would not be able to field a team without all that you do. We cannot wait until 2016!!!!
