MIKE BELL AWARD |

| Mike Bell grew up in North Platte playing little league baseball and competing on several all-star baseball teams. In 1975, Mike was a Center Fielder for the 1975 Midgets who are now know as the Juniors. Being selected to the Legion Baseball Team was a very proud acheivement in Mike's life. In June of 1975, Mike was killed in an automobile accident at the age of 16. Mike loved all sports but baseball was special to him. The "Mike Bell Award" was established in his name for both the younger and older Legion Baseball teams. The players vote on the award, which is given to the player who demonstrates dedication to the American Legion Baseball program through hard work, dedication and a desire to be the best, both on and off the field. This award was presented to North Platte Legion Baseball players from 1975 through 2010. | |||||
