Chuckers Go 14 Innings in Semi-Final Battle
Posted September 28, 2015
Congrats to our split squad that made the trek up to Kamloops this past weekend, finishing a solid 2-2 in the "AAA" pool of the Big League Experience "Best of the West" tournament.
The boys opened the tournament with a 10-0 win over the Okanagan A's. They dropped the next game 4-0 to Absolute Baseball Academy from Calgary. A 7-5 win over the Okotoks Dawgs White followed on Saturday, placing Richmond in a semi-final Sunday morning against Asahi, a tribute team to the famous Japanese club team from the 1930's and 40's. Made up of players from different lower mainland associations, the Asahi club finished first in the "AA" pool. The game was memorable going a whopping 14 innings before the Chuckers came out on the short end of a 4-3 score.
Thanks to Marty Lehn for another top notch event, and well done guys!
