Tuesday Basketball: Marlon Williams, Rene Scott push McGill-Toolen to 11-1

1. McGill-Toolen, Spanish Fort football stars hit the court

After helping their teams to respective state football titles, McGill-Toolen's Marlon Williams and Spanish Fort's Justin Thomas didn't take long to adjust to basketball.

Williams scored 15 points Tuesday night as the Yellow Jackets defeated the Toros 67-45. McGill-Toolen won the Class 7A state football title last week, while Spanish Fort won the 6A championship.

Justin Thomas led the Toros with 18 points on Tuesday night.

McGill-Toolen improved to 11-1 with the win. Rene Scott also had 15 for the Jackets, while Darius Bradley had 10.

Michael Meador chipped in 12 for the Toros.

All 17 McGill players saw action and 11 scored in the game.
