Local Masters Baseball Players Stepping Up to Host 2016 Americas Masters Games Baseball
Posted February 10, 2016

Baseball BC has nominated members from the Lower Mainland Baseball Association (LMBA) to plan the masters baseball competition at the 2016 Americas Masters Games. The LMBA is one of the largest adult baseball leagues in Canada having 600 players ranging in age from 19 to 80. Many of our players and teams have traveled to competitions in both Canada and the United States and they will be tapping into those experiences to plan and run the tournament. The Planning Committee has set the divisions, confirmed venues, selected an Umpire-in-Chief, worked with the Americas Masters Games Committee, and is working on a pool of volunteers to run the daily operations once the tournament is underway. They will shortly be publishing tournament rules and will set schedules closer to the actual playing dates.
Dan Taylor is serving as the Americas Masters Games Baseball Technical Director and both he and the tournament committees are looking forward to putting on a good show - after all, many of us will be playing so we want to make it work well for everyone.
Dan is the official contact and he can be reached via email at amgbaseball2016@gmail.com or by phone (604) 512-7911. Please let us know how we can help and look forward to hosting you here this summer.
