Local Help Greatly Appreciated – AMG Baseball Committee
Teams and players from the Lower Mainland Baseball Association (LMBA) will be playing in the baseball competition at the 2016 Americas Masters Games. Volunteers from the league have been part of the baseball planning committee and they will be supplying the bulk of the daily help to ensure the baseball event runs smoothly.

Bill also plays in our 45+ division and may be playing for one of our local tournament teams.
Park Supervisor – Klaus Heck – Klaus is a long-time member of the LMBA and brings a wealth of organizational experience to the tournament. His background as lead organizer of provincial secondary school championships in basketball and track and field compliments his many connections in the baseball community.
Park Supervisor – Warren Karsgaard – Warren is the co-founder of the Lower Mainland Baseball Association (1994) and he has played, managed, and served on the Executive making many key contributions to the growth and development of the league. He was also recognized provincially for his 40+ years of service to youth baseball.
George Smith – George is a long-time umpire who has served with many associations and currently he is the umpire allocator for the LMBA. He is also on the Board of Directors for British Columbia Baseball Umpires Association (BCBUA). He will be serving as Umpire-in-Chief for the baseball competition at the 2016 Americas Masters Games.
Planning Committee – A small planning committee has been working since baseball was included in the 2016 Americas Masters Games. They have worked on securing venues, setting divisions, establishing a set of playing rules, and initiating contacts throughout Canada and the United States. They will continue working on tournament logistics right up until the first pitch as they will be playing in the tournament.
All of them currently play in the LMBA – Kevin Gordon (Vancouver Pirates), Randy Coutts (Vancouver Pirates), Rick Reining (Delta Stars), Rod Van Dorn (Delta Stars), Howard Sandrel (White Rock Eagles).
Tournament Committee – We are currently canvassing our guys for tournament help, mainly scorekeepers and field maintenance.
