Posted March 5, 2016
Freshman Zeke Block had two hits and pitched one inning of scoreless relief to lead Team Red to a win over Team Black in the annual Trapper intersquad scimmage, 4-2. Block had an RBI single and scored a run in Team Red's four run top of the third inning, which broke up a scoreless tie. Jake Dunn got the start for Team Red and pitched two innings of scoreless ball. The senior also reached base multiple times and also stole a base. Junior Travis Taylor and senior Cody Farris also pitched well to help Team Red hold on to that lead. For Team Black, Oscar Rodriguez and Steven Stanley each had hits to lead the charge offensively. On the mound freshman Dylan Mash was the bright spot as the right-hander struck out four in his two innings on the bump. Senior Tanner Thompson was very solid toeing the rubber as well for Team Black, as he struck out three in two innings of work. Overall it was a great day at Trapper Diamond.
