Supers Schooled by Padres

Posted May 27, 2010

On a cold, miserable night at Jubilee Park in Yorkton, the Supers failed to get any clutch performances for the third game in a row as they fell to the Parklnd Padres 4-2. The Padres swung the bats very well and were equal to the task on the mound, limiting the Supers to 8 hits, half of them not leaving the infield.

Darcy Blommaert, Tom Cook, and Trevor Latham toed the rubber for the Supers, pitching well in defeat.

Offensively, we had 8 hits, all singles, and only a couple hit hard. Tom Cook was 2 for 3 on the night to go along with his solid pitching performance. Greg Andreychuk was 2 for 3, as both hits went a combined distance of about 37 feet. Also recording hits were Russ Sarauer, Ryan Kitchen, Trevor Latham and Derek Palagian. Palagian and Kitchen each had an rbi, and each made some nice defensive contributions in the outfield. Russ Sarauer scored both runs and also had a perfect night at the plate, as he walked and was hit by a pitch.

With the loss, the Supers record drops to 1-3. Our next scheduled game is Friday, May 28 in Yorkton vs the Junior Cardinals. We'll see how Mother Nature cooperates with us, stay tuned.
