The Monarchs out hit Hockinson, 9-8, but coach Jason Mackey said three fielding errors and not capitalizing on opportunities on the basepaths in part led to MM’s GSHL 2A setback against the Hawks.

MM starter Lane Spenker allowed three earned runs on eight hits and struck out three over six innings. He also went 2-for-4 with an RBI. James Manthe (3-for-4, 2 RBI), Brent Myklebust (2-for-3) and Dawson St. Jean (1-for-3, 2 RBI) also highlighted MM’s offense.
