DBACKs Offence Busts Loose in Yorkton

YORKTON, SK - On a beautiful Mothers Day in Yorkton, the Saskatoon DBacks saw their offence bust loose, beating the Parkland Expos 8-3 and 19-4. The offence was a big relief to the Dbacks who only managed 4 hits in their opening day 10-2 loss to the Cubs. In game 1 Matt Scott started on the mound going 2.2 innings allowing 0 hits, 7 BB and 3 K’s. Tyler Schlichemeyer finished things off going 4.1 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 BB’s with 7 K’s. Offensively, the Dbacks managed 8 hits. Jared Thompson, Ryan Crilly and Shane Soderberg each went 1 for 3. Jayden McKim and Bryce Libke were 1 for 4 while Eric Trakalo was 1 for 2.
Game 2 saw the Dbacks cruise to a 19-4 victory. Alex Grenier started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 5 hits with 5 K’s. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Eric Trakalo who was 3 for 4 and Ryan Crilly who was 3 for 5. Jared Thompson, Matt Scott, Shane Soderberg, Tyler Schlichemeyer and Bryce Libke had two hits each while Zak Krysak and Jayden Mckim both had 1 hit.
Next action for the Dbacks is Tuesday night when they host the league leading Muenster Red Sox.
