DBacks Rout Canadians

On a chilly, windy Tuesday the Dbacks took on the Canadians.

Trask got the start for the DBacks after scheduled starter Curtis "Chuck" Sawchuk was late from his "meetings".  DBacks rookie Terrence Hoppenrys was behind the dish calling fastballs, which is a recipe for disaster for the ageing Trask...his perfect BP pitches put the DBacks in an early 2-0 hole.

Former DBack Danny "ISIS" Payne started for the Canadians.  He only threw 5 balls to the backstop, beating the over-uner of 15 by a wide margin.  Eventually, he walked the farm and the DBacks took the lead for good.

Kenton Haugrud hit the longest ball of his life foul in his first at bat.  He ended the day with 4 walks.

Gerwing sat for the first time ever and contemplated suicide on bench.

While warming up Chuck, Zanutto asks him "You don't need me to get my gear or crouch right?". Chucks said "I haven't throw off a bump in 3 years but ... uh... yea we should be fine."   He went on to strikeout 6 over 3 innings of solid relief.

Wong, Coop, JB had a contest to see who could hit the 400 sign in center.

Brent Hamel showed that a married guy with a kid can still make plays at short, getting dirty for a would-be double play had the umpire given outs for "cool plays".

Brendon Sutherland showcased his motto of "Do as I say, Not as I do" as he slid feet-first into first base on a ground-out-error.  This is the man shaping todays youth in Calgary, one roll-over at a time.

Hamel grounded out on a 3 - 0 count (Case-O-Beer).

Overall the Canadians looked slightly better than last year.  This game was pretty much a snooze-fest.

MVP: Jordan Wong (3-4, 2 RBI, 2 R)
VAG: Beckham's for taking a half-hour to serve us beer.
