Orioles JV rolls to 5 Game Win Streak
Posted May 12, 2016
The Lennox Orioles Junior Varsity team this past Tuesday traveled to Renner to play SFC and as the rain moved in, the game ended after 3 innings. The Orioles JV had won 3-0 and they had completed a 5 game win streak along with finishing the season with a 7 win, 5 loss and 1 tie record. This article we’ll explore what the JV team has had to go through this season as they earned a winning record.
The Orioles JV team started off a little rough as they started off with 1 win, 4 losses and 1 tie. However, after a tournament in Dakota Valley, it seemed that Lennox had found there stride and they took off. In the final seven games, Lennox finished with 6 wins and 1 loss. This turned their record to a winning record and gave them a 7 win, 5 loss and 1 tie record.
This is back to back seasons where the junior varsity has had a winning record. This helps show that Lennox has some positive future stars rising. The Orioles JV has a few players who will travel with the varsity for the duration of the playoffs and those players are Quincy Ihnen, Zach Leisinger, and Brock Anderson. Those three players had good JV seasons and that means that they will be ready to get any action in the playoffs when they are called upon.
With the JV team finishing with a winning record back to back years, which means the next year’s varsity team will consist a lot of those JV players. So this could mean that Lennox Varsity Baseball is in for some good years over the next four to five years. Oriole JV fans should not get discouraged about the season being over, as there is hopefully some more playoff games for them to watch of the varsity. Next week is round one of playoffs and Lennox varsity will play at Garretson for round one. The game is projected to be on Monday but the locked in date isn’t for sure yet.
Thanks for supporting the JV as we have had some large JV crowds over the year and thanks for being such great fans!
Thanks for reading, have a nice day and GOOOOOOO Orioles!
