Dbacks split with Twins

CAIRNS SK – In the first game, the Dbacks offence unloaded on the Twins pounding out 11 runs on 12 hits on the way to an 11-1 win. Nolan Machibroda pitched a complete game going 6 innings allowing 3 hits, with 3 BB’s and 9 K’s. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Shane Soderberg who was 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs. Machibroda was also 2 for 3 at the dish with 2 RBIs while Matt Scott was 2 for 4. Carter Dahl, Ryan OIchaway, Ryan Crilly and Jarred Thompson were all 1 for 3. Eric Trakalo rounded out the offense going 1 for 2.

In the second game the Dbacks could only score 1 run on 6 hits, losing the nightcap 2-1. Alex Grenier started game 2 going 5 innings allowing 4 hits, 2 runs with 3 BB’s and 6 K’s. Garett Krawchuk threw the final two innings allowing 1 hit with 0 runs, 3 BB and 5 K’s. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Matt Scott who was 3 for 3 and Carter Dahl who was 2 for 4. Tyler Schlichemeyer was 1 for 1. In the seventh inning the Dbacks had a runner called out at home and then a runner caught at third to end the game.
