Dbacks play just the tip for 8 innings.

The clouds parted, the rain stopped as God himself attended the battle for bushest team in the FMBA - Diamondbacks vs Cardinals.
Dbacks took an early 1 – 0 lead but instead of lying down for a quick painless death the Cardinals carried an unusual thread of hope, a persistence that would say “I will not go quietly into the night” – countering in the bottom half with 2 runs of their own to reclaim the lead.
The game was a back and forth battle. JB robbed a hit down the line with a fantastic diving play only to have the Cards respond with a completely unnecessary diving catch from their left fielder.
Future Dback Prospect Steve “Chico” Clark decided to help his former college roommate by dropping an easy catcher pop and then calling fastball “in his wheel house”, an offering that JB would take approximately 453.7 ft to right center, putting the DBacks back on top 3 - 2. This was short lived as the Cards would again take the lead back 4 – 3. Gayef eventually harnessed his inner rage monster to blast a double to the 400 sign in center allowing coop to do his best Bruno Mars impression all the way from first base finishing it with a veteran hook slide to tie the game and send it to extras.
Eventually the Cards remembered who they were and lost 9 – 5 in the 9th.
Sawchuck picked up the W throwing all 9 with 9 K’s – solid performance.
Zanutto was like a baby giraffe learning to run on the bases, getting thrown out at 2nd and running Ford off 3rd in extras - obviously these base running blunders were matched by the Cardinals. Chico got back-doored at 3rd on a sac bunt and also failed to run out a dribbler down the line which miraculously turned fair just before 3rd base.
Gayef and Coop prove that it doesn’t matter how you run if you can “hit the ball good”.
MVP - JB going 3 for 5 (4RBI, HR) + diving grab and Chuck (9K's over 9)
VAG - Zanutto for having a complicated relationship with 3rd Base.
