Supers Shut Out Reds 6-0

The Supers hosted the Swan River Reds on a rainy Wednesday May 25. At about 4:30 PM it started to rain and it looked like the game would be washed away. Fortunately by game time the light rain turned into a harmless drizzle and the game was able to be played out.
Both teams received great pitching through five innings as the Supers held a 1-0 on a bloop rbi single by Jordan Bieber. In the bottom of the sixth, Terry Cumming led off with a solo home run to give the Supers some breathing room. After a couple hit batters and a Dylan Toffan single, Kody Rock blew the game open as he blasted a grand slam over the left center field fence to give the Supers a commanding 6-0 lead, which ended up being the final score.
Derek Palagian, Terry Cumming and Kody Rock were the story of the game for the Supers. Palagian pitched six shutout innings recording seven strikeouts while allowing just four hits. Terry Cumming had two hits including his first ever Supers home run. Kody Rock was 4 for 4 at the plate with two stolen bases, three singles,and a crushing grand slam in the bottom of the sixth. Rock also pitched the top of the seventh, striking out four Reds as one of the Reds reached on a strikeout with a wild pitch.
Jordan Bieber, Dylan Toffan, and Tannum Wyonzek each had a single to round out the offence. With the win the Supers even their record to 2 wins and 2 losses on the season. The next game is Thursday May 26 as the Russell Bulls come to town. First pitch scheduled for 6:30 PM Saskatchewan time
