DBACKS spilt with Giants

CAIRNS, SK – A combination of the Dbacks coming out flat in game 1 and a strong pitching effort from the Giants resulted in a 4-3 loss for the Dbacks. Graham Forrester started on the mound going 4 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, with 5 BB’s and 2 K’s.  Tyler Schlichemeyer threw the last 2 innings allowing 1 run on 2 hits with 1 BB and 1 K.  Offensively, the Dbacks had 7 hits with Nolan Machibroda going 3 for 3 with an RBI.  Ryan Olchoway was 1 for 2, Jayden McKim was 1 for 3 and Carter Dahl and Jared Thompson were 1 for 4.

Game 2 saw the Dbacks come out on top by a score of 12-6.  Ryan Olchoway earned the win going 3.1 innings allowing 0 hits, 2 runs with 7 BB’s and 5 K’s.  Garrett Krawchuk went the next 2.2 innings allowing 4 runs (2 unearned) with 2 BB’s and 1 K.  Jarred Thompson pitched the final inning clean. Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Ryan Olchoway who was 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Jayden McKim and Carter Dahl were both 2 for 4, while Bryce Libke, Nolan Machibroda and Eric Trakalo were all 1 for 3. Tyler Schlichemeyer was 1 for 4 while Garrett Krawchuk rounded out the hitting going 1 for 2 with a double and an RBI.

Next action for the Dbacks is Saturday morning when they host the Swift Current Indians.
