Dbacks fall to Cubs 9-3

CAIRNS, SK - The Dbacks struggles continued last night as they lost 9-3 to the Cubs. Shane Soderberg started on the mound going 3 1/3 innings allowing 7 hits, 6 runs, 3 earned runs, 1 BB and 3 K's. Garrett Krawchuk took over going 2 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run with 2 BB’s and 1 K. Bryce Libke pitched the final inning allowing 0 hits, 1 run, 2 BB’s and 1 K.
Offensively, the Dbacks were led by Ryan Olchoway and Matt Scott who were 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Alex Grenier was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Graham Forrester was 1 for 2 and Tyrone Polson was 1 for 3 to round out the offense.
The Dbacks are now 6-8 in conference play and 10-11 overall. Their next action is on Saturday at Cairns when they host the Pirates.
