Cubs edge Dbacks 5-4

CAIRNS, SK - The Dbacks started off the game scoring 1 run in the top of the first. However, the Cubs came back with 5 unanswered runs over the next 4 innings. The Dbacks made a game of it in the 6th getting three of those runs back, but it was not enough as the Cubs hung on to edge the Dbacks 5 to 4.
Graham Forrester started on the bump going 2 innings allowing 1 hit and 1 run. Tyler Schlichemeyer threw the next two innings allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, 2 BB's and 2 K's. Bryce Libke finished things off for the Dbacks going two innings with 4 BB’s and 3 K’s.
Offensively, the Dbacks had 6 hits. Shane Soderberg led the offence with going 1 for 3 with a 3 RBI double in the 5th. Ryan Olchoway was 2 for 3 and Nolan Machibroda was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Ryan Crilly and Jared Thompson were both 1 for 3.
The Dbacks, now site at 8 and 9 in conference play and are 12-12 overall.
