Two Royals Sign Letter of Intent with Thompson Rivers University
Posted June 17, 2016
A pair of graduating members of the Ridge Meadows Royals 18U team have signed a Letter of Intent to play baseball at Thompson Rivers University starting in the fall. Middle infielder Kyron Smith and Outfielder/Third Baseman Nick Peters have both signed on to begin their college careers in Kamloops with the Wolfpack.
Both players have spent the past three seasons as members of the Royals, with each playing a key role in capturing the League and Provincial Championships in 2015. Smith has moved back and forth between shortstop and second base this season, and has been a catalyst at the top of the Royals' batting order since joining the team. Peters provides solid outfield defence and brings the ability to hit for both power and average to the middle of the order.
The TRU Wolfpack play in the Canadian College Baseball Conference, which includes teams from British Columbia and Alberta. They finished last season with a 13-15 record which was good enough for third place in the league.
Good luck to both Kyron and Nick as they start the next stage of their baseball careers.
