Dbacks get 4 in the 7th to edge Giants 6-5

CAIRNS, SK - After a slow start, the Saskatoon Dbacks finished fast scoring 4 runs in the top of the 7th to mount a 6-5 comeback victory over the Saskatoon Giants. The win marks the 4th straight victory for the Dbacks and moves them to 12-10 in conference play and 17-18 overall.
With the Dbacks down 5-2 in the top of the 7th, Ryan Crilly got things rolling when he reached 1st on an error by the short stop. Garrett Krawchuk then stroked a double to move Zak Krysak, who was pinch running for Crilly, to third. Tyrone Polson walked to load the bases and Krysak scored on a past ball to make the score 5-3. Jordan Malainey hit a single to score Krawchuk and move Polson to third. Malainey then stole second and the stage was set for Nolan Machibroda who hit a two run double to give the Dbacks their first lead of the game and eventually the win.
Shane Soderberg pitched 4.2 innings for the Dbacks allowing 9 hits, 5 runs and 3 K’s. Matt Scott picked up the win with 2.1 innings including 3 K’s. The Dbacks travel to Muenster on Friday for a double header against the Sox.
