Runner-Up at DCA Tournament

On Saturday, August 20 the Lady Wildcats traveled to Nashville to take part in the Donelson Christian Academy volleyball tournament. Pool play began early for Waverly at 8am facing Franklin Road Academy, and the girls came out ready to play beating FRA 25-19 and 25-16. The players were excited to have a win that early, as Waverly has not been know to have a good start that early in past seasons.
The Lady Wildcats finished pool play beating Harpeth Hall, 25-23 and 26-24, Lipscomb B 25-23 and 25-15, and splitting sets with Davidson Academy 22-25 and 25-12. Waverly was at the top in their pool and were seeded 3rd overall in the 15-team tournament.
The Lady Wildcats began bracket play against the #2 seed Coopertown. Waverly took care of Coopertown easily with set scores of 25-11 and 25-19, putting them in the championship match with Portland. The Lady Wildcats ended the day with a 2nd place finish against a good Portland team, 12-25 and 10-25. A good day of volleyball for the Lady Wildcats and fans bringing home a 2nd place finish for their first tournament of the season!!
